Jarvis Walker Sovereign boat rod
This is my review of the Jarvis Walker Sovereign boat rod
There are 2 models available this one is the 20 to 30lbs - 7ft6 inch.
There is also a 12 to 20lbs model in the range they have 10 line guides and a super slim light weight blank
The rod comes in 2 equal sections the but section of the rod has a stylish logo and information clearly labeled a heavy duty EVA handle and 1 line guide
The rod is made from a super slim carbon lightweight blank this blank feels very strong and well designed
The rod has a quality locking reel seat made from high impact robust plastic
This has a really nice warm feel to it and when locked holds the reel very firmly and securely
The butt section has a strong carbon spigot joint which is nicely finished off with single whipping and stylish gold edging
The rod has 10 elliptical guides especially designed for handling braid the butt ring is the largest of these guides
The intermediate rings are single leg type each whipped and finished to the highest standard and all are lined with ceramic type inserts
The tip ring is a low profile lined ring
The butt section has a removable soft rubber cap this covers a gimbal fitting mostly used with but pads
The rod has a robust quality feel to it with a superb stylish finish it is well balanced with its super slim carbon blank. The guides are well spaced and superbly lined in ceramic I like the feel of this rod it has a medium stiff action you can feel it has loads of power to play the fish.
The EVA handle is just the right length and feels very comfortable in the hand
The retail of this rod is £72.99 this is great value for such a quality fishing rod and sure to become a success amongst us kayak anglers
A Special thanks has to go to Chris summers from Jarvis walker for the support and enthusiasm he has shown to the kayak angling fraternity in making this review possible
