Welcome to the new sib (soft inflatable boat) fishing section on north Wales kayak fishing over recent months I have been asked more and more by members what I know about sib fishing.
knowing nothing I decided to do some research in to this new side of the sport and went out and bought a sib and engine since buying the sib and engine I have been getting a lot of people asking me about it some of the questions I have been able to answer but many I could not and have spent days and days trying to find the correct answers so we have decided to put up a sib section to hopefully try to bring something different to our fishing community.
I think that sib fishing is a side of the sport that is growing and by providing this section it will grow with us

Great idea Terry, I think that we will be surprised how many yakers already have a sib's or are thinking about purchasing one.

Aha I didn't think it would take long for someone to set me right Thanks mate So does that mean these are far more susceptible to punctures with a hook etc?

Erm... yes and no... depends whether the tubes are made of hypalon or pvc, hypalon is much tougher but more expensive but yes you do have to take more care using an inflatable, Common sense basically comes into it here. Most sibs on the market these days are pvc.

I see so is it possible to cover the pvc with a protective more durable layer? Of course you are spot on about common sense but... just out of interest.

I am really pleased to have this section as I have owned 5 inflatables over the years ranging from puddle jumpers to RIBs so nice one Terry.
