For the guys around the coast there is usually a lot of choice of places to go for fishing kayaks but not in the Midlands. Desperate Measures of Nottingham have changed this. They have taken over new premises at Holme Pierrepont Watersports Centre ( Old Peak Adventures ). They are currently selling numerous brands of SOT but are focusing on fishing more now. Currently of the purpose designed angling kayaks they have Perception and Jackson Kayak. They will have the main models for fishing on site and available for demos. They are about 50 yards from an easy launch onto the Trent. The option that they offer is £25. This will give you the kayak for a whole day and you can paddle or even fish on the Trent for the day for that money. This £25 can be discounted if a yak is brought at a later date. They also have cag, pants and wheels plus paddle and pfd to use for new starters. A very welcome store for us inlanders, they make great coffee too. The great thing Zeb is the ability to actually have a days fishing on the kayak to see just how well it suits the individual. A proper 'Try before you buy' as we have always said.

Just like the lads at Runcorn. We need more shops by the water.
