I have been asked a few times where I keep my fishing tackle and all the bits needed for a days fishing on the sib its import and to keep the deck as clean and as clear as possible when you out fishing you don’t want to be falling over all sorts when your out on the water .
So here is a few photos of how I set up my sib ready for a days fishing
This is my tackle and bits box it simply sits up the middle of the sib allowing me to fish from any position on the boat notice I do not use the bench seats that come with most sibs I find they are a little too low for me and they tend to give me a bit of cramp after a long day
The box is made from ply and given 5/6 coats of good quality varnish to keep it from rotting the box measures 36 inches long by 12 inches high and 12 inches wide
I like everything to be at hand so you can see the fish finder and rod holder mounted on ball sockets on either side of where the engine will sit in direct reach
The back of the box has some ventilation holes these are very important as I keep my fuel tank inside the box as well this keeps every thing contained its easy to load easy to carry and everything is in one place so I can not forget anything in the morning when I am loading the car .
The lid of the box has a foam top covered with some vinyl once its opened it gives me a very large tackle box for all my fishing gear and the spare things I may need for the boat ie spare spark plug spare kill switch ect
Inside the box is a large space for anchor ect and all the stuff I my need for the days fishing note the sliding lid on the left hand side this houses my fuel tank and keeps any fumes out of the main box .any fumes will be vented through the holes in the ventilated end my fuel line also threads through the largest of the holes and connects inside to the petrol tank
Here with the sliding lid removed you can see how the fuel tank fits and is threaded through the ventilation holes note the extra ply wood this just adds strength to the carrying straps
