Me and a mate had our first session on the kayaks yesterday morning, launched from cable bay at around half 9, headed out of the bay and put an anchor down to try for rays and huss, but alas only dogfish to the big baits, we did manage a load of coalfish on the baited feathers, as well as pin whiting, tried a few drifts and put the anchor down a few times to get used to it, it was surprisingly easy and we both enjoyed our day and are looking forward to our next trip. No photos as i don't have a waterproof camera....

That sounds like a great first session, Well done Jonh You'll both be addicted to yakfishing in no time Unlucky with the TBR's, they should be showing now. Good that you had some Coalies action though,I love Coalies ! what size were they ? Will be giving Cable a go myself soon - always found squid best there Stay safe and enjoy your kayak fishing Phil

I've enjoyed brilliant sport with Coalies around N Wales in March/April the last few years. Little plugs and light 5g spinning rod - Magic !
