As promised here are some photos of the Drifter with some of the extras I have added.
This one shows the light that is fitted which has the red/green marine coding. I fitted this to the front of the Yak as it is the most visable position. This is 12v and runs off the battery compartment.
One with the room lights off and the Kayak light on. Very bright and visable. This is set about 250mm off the kayak. Doesn't the kayak look horrid in poor light?
Another closer one of the light which fits into a flush mounted fitting. The light is fully removable and pushes into the mounting with a seal. The mount and the light shaft have some male and female contacts which make the circuit. No wires to mess with.
This is with the lamp removed and the sealing plug / flap in its place. I reckon its a very neat item.
The lamp and the fishfinder run off a 12v sealed battery and I have seperatley wired the lamp into a waterproof switch which is mounted in a recessed position in the seat well area. Can be seen as the small round item on the right.
The battery lives in a seal lock container in the inner hatch area. This is stuck to the bottom of the Kayak with silicon. The duct tape is there for piece of mind. I must sort them wires out though and keep them away from the Fishfinder Transducer. Transducer is stuck down with epoxy and works well.
The view from the seat position with the new side mounted rod holders. Very difficult to find a suitable position and I will be looking for extensions soon to raise them up.
Hope this is useful.
