Rear hatch cut out . On most of the prowlers there is a space at the rear of the kayak in the storage well with a round circle on .its for an inspection hatch .but most of us don’t use it I decided to make use of it and bought a 7 inch hatch cover from ebay £4.00 I then got a plastic cd case the types that come with 100 cd/rw . To my surprise it fitted the diameter perfectly . So first of all I made a gasket for the hatch out of an old foam mouse mat . Then I carefully drilled a small hole in each of the tabs on the cd case and added a small self taper rivet and a dab of epoxy to hold it all in place when dry . It was given a bead of silicone to make it watertight . as you can see it worked out ok there is a strong bond between the hatch and the plastic case . when the hatch is fitted to my boat (later in the week ) I hope to use it for my first aid kit and maybe some star shot flares I know is not the easiest place to get to if needed but encased in the plastic box the flares and first aid kit could be left without any fear of damp or water ingress

nice one mate, looks like you have made a real good job of that hatch. £4.00 value for money as I paid about £25.00 for my 6" net hatch.
