The masterline Prime Boat rod My first impressions review. The John Wilson prime boat rod the first thing you will notice with this rod is the quality it is made from carbon composite and has Fuji type rings and reel seat the rod is a 2 piece this one is a 12lbs class version but 20lbs/30lbs and 50lbs models are also available it has a duplon handle and a gimble it comes complete with a rubber gimble cover. 2 equal length sections make for easy transport and storage. The rod has a quality finish with very strong line guides and A grade whippings The prime boat rods have a spigot type joint with re-enforced whippings on both male and female sides of the joint please note the beautiful tough finish on the line guide The prime boat rods have a duplon handle which I have found very comfortable and easy to clean this is a superb range of quality boat rods which deliver a lot of power while handling a fish they are very tough rods and ideal for us kayak anglers I think masterline have got this one just right it delivers both quality and affordability. For the price I do not think this rod can be beaten it retails at £19.99 I have asked buddy to use this rod and give us his opinion on it once he has used it a few times .

Used the 12lb class rod a few times now. 2 piece very light and supprisingly strong. The finish is still as good as new. at 7ft in length it is long enough to reach around the kayak should a fish want to give you the runaround. The ferrule is v very good fit with no slack or rattle. Light enough to hold all day and gives very good bite detection even from the smallest of fish. A budget priced rod that delivers the goods. I will be using this rod on a regular basis. Cant wait to try it trollong lures in summer.
