The tarpon130t tandem
This is my first impressions review of the t130 tandem
The first thing you notice is the quality of the moulding on this tandem its top notch and is moulded from he finest quality plastics it comes complete with 2 backrests which just fold out or down flay for storage I have had the chance to paddle it both solo and I tandem and can confirm its brilliant at both because when solo you have your weight at the back of the kayak the front comes up a bit in the water meaning it turns amazingly quickly and its fast through the water when used as a tandem with 2 on board there is plenty of room for all the tackle and it handles like a dream it is very stable on the water and quick
It comes complete with
• Molded seat
• Adjustable padded back rest
• Molded footbraces
• Two 6" day hatches
• Deck rigging
• Tankwell bungees
• Paddle/Rod holders
• Comfort carry handles
• Cupholder
Note the convenient bungee on both from and back of this kayak
Here we see it being used as a single seater it’s so versatile
The carry handles are centrally aligned so carrying it is easy as well
The sleek lines of the t130 make this a good lucking kayak as well as a very practical kayak it weighs 65lbs is 13ft long and 34inches wide .
There are many flat areas to mount things like rod mounts and fish finders for both front and rear anglers everything is finished off nicely with recessed fittings
This kayak would be a dream to fully kit out the layout is so usable
He small rubber5 hatches are se just right for front and rear paddlers and the sturdy backrest is very comfortable and offers a huge amount of support to the angler when the backrests are not needed you just fold them down for storage .
This is the rear console note how easy it would be to mount fish finders and rod rests on this and the recessed pad eyes
Behind the rear seat is a small tank well I found this very handy and easy to reach
In all this is a very good tandem kayak in fact I would go one better by saying it is the best tandem I have ever been in by a long way the quality of the plastic and the easy way everything is laid out would make it easy to kit out when paddled solo it handled better than some of the solo kayaks I have paddled when in tandem mode it really shows its class it is an easy kayak to paddle and very stable
The wilderness tarpon130t retails at £550 which is an absolute bargain for anybody looking for a tandem kayak i am going to fit this one out fully and will add workshops as i go along with it
I will have mine at many of the meets you are welcome to come try it out either solo or tandem
