I collected my new Manta 12 from the Surflines shop in LLanbery. Phil fitted a rudder and an anchor trolley - the work for free. Although I appreciate the fact that the fitting of these items was done for free, I am afraid the fitter does not understand the princip of the contraption and fitted it the way convinient to him, not the way it is going to work properly. I wander if I have to refit it? What do you think? Here is the photo of the kayak Notice how far back from the bow and the stern the blocks are fixed - the red arrow. They should be at the very end where there are even depretions moulded for the eyes - the blue arrows. Been so centraly fixed the blocks may cause side pool and capsizing of the kayak in stronger currents or waves. What do you think? The native made a pig ear with their idea of anchor system especialy by fitting this useles cleat - pinkl arrow. It is fited with rivets! In this easy to acces area through the central hatch for fitting with bolts and nuts I want to get rid of it and fix proper control line cam cleat with CL 213 Fineline (Starboard) and CL 214 Fineline (Port) on both sides of the control line camcleat. Can somebody give me a sugestion how to get rid of the riveted closed face cleat? And how to close the holes left after I remove the cleat and the useles blocks, please?

Vlad
As you know I have the same kayak. The cleat which is riveted on the port side is totally in the wrong place for me. The rod rest on the center consul is to far away to be of any use when in the seated position. So although The manta 12 is a fantastic kayak and the build quality is good, I would recommend to anybody getting one, not to get the angler version, but fit the extra,s yourself. I will photo my anchor trolley and put that up for you. Also did you say they where fitting a fish finder for you. If so I can't see it???

No, I have not decided on which model FF to get yet seajunkey. So they were not fitting a fishfinder.
Do you think it is safe to use that anchor trolley or shall I refit it?
How do I close the holes they drilled and how to remove the riveted items?

removing the rivets is easy use a small drill bit and drill them out then i would remove the front deck loop and re-fit the front roller in its place leave the rear roller where it is you mostly anchor from the front so you can see any large waves or swell coming you cant see them if the anchors set behind you .if you remove the plastic clip and circular thingy put a decent carbiner there instead this will leave you with 4 tiny holes to fill either you can fill them with some kayak polastic but easyer for you would be to just put a self tapper screw in each hole so no water can get in . i will get some photos up tomorow of how i done mine vlad look at the first picture vlad this is how i fitted mine zebrakayak.proboards81.com/index.cgi?board=modsrigging&action=display&thread=841
