After searching high and low for a paddle that fitted all my my criteria i thought yet again that what i was looking for just wasn't available
Then i just happened to stumble across www.mitchellblades.com and just out of interest thought i'd give them a call as bizarrely they are based less than a mile away from where i work in Chester.
After a good chat with Lance of Mitchell blades it was decided that a paddle would be hand built to my requirements (even the blades are hand layed from scratch to your spec)
I decided on a cranked two piece carbon/kevlar shaft (adjustable in length by up to 10cm with touring blades (silver hybrid/silver shadow)
Ok, so it looks the business and feels good in the hand but,
Does it perform ? Am i paying for looks alone ? How do i give an un-biased review ?
Well i decided the best way would be to spend the morning with my tried, tested and approved lendl kinetic touring and then the afternoon with the Mitchell.
I wasn't really sure what to expect as the blades are completely different and the cranked shaft would be new to me.
The results were very, very satisfying. ;D
The paddle seemed to give more power for less effort , got me moving faster from standstill , gave great control and even seemed to correct some of my poor technique
What else can i say other than if your in the market for a special one of a kind paddle built for you, to your specs at a price comparable to some manufacturers machine built paddles get in touch with mitchell blades , you won't be dissapointed
Oh yeah before i forget, the best bit
