what a brilliant day.
this was Jason's first time kayak fishing so a better day we could not have wished for virtually no wind flat calm seas and a quiet sandy beach .
we launched at 4.45am in perfect conditions spending the first 2 hours paddling and learning to balance the kayak in the turn Jason managed to fall out just once so he done really well for his first paddle .
then at 6.45 it was time to tackle up and go catch them fish
we went straight out to near mackerel rock and were straight away catching mackerel.
then a short move over to the wreck and the pouting were there in force .
we dropped over to the boiler from the old wreck which is about 600yds from the main wreck and started to catch some nice Pollock about 1.5 lbs mark .
we were then joined by a seal it was about 9.15 by this time and jason was starting to flag a bit he had not slept the night before with excitement and we had started out from home at 2am so we decided it was time to paddle back in before the jet ski brigade started we could already see a lot of people on mackerel rock .
it had been a great start to jasons kayak fishing
after some awful a55 traffic and passing 4/5 accidents on the way home .
we decided to have a fresh mackerel Barby in the garden.
where we re-lived Jason's big adventure many times and how he had caught more fish than his boring dad who just sat on his yak un-tangling Jason's used rigs while Jason kept catching ;D
i was quickly reminded in a few years i have to go through it all again with Scott and his first time paddling and catching more than dad ;D.
