This morning I launched from Borth y Gest, 30 mins before high tide. I paddled over the choppy Glaslyn towards Portmerion, then up the Dwyryd where it was more sheltered. I went as far as the toll bridge. The current helped me back, but I was against the wind coming back across the Glaslyn, and I was alarmed by how shallow it was, had to paddle around the sandbanks. Its a high water venue only. By the Penrhyndeudraeth to Harlech Toll Bridge I saw a big fish leap right out of the water. would that be a sea trout?

Glorious lighting - did you get some hail/snow/rain squalls as those black clouds rolled in?
We got the lot today on windermere - had to abandon the trip because Alistair froze, he was absolutely frozen to the core......probably good job because they have snow up there now, and we were going ot be camping!

I've just woken up to snow now, so I'm glad I got out when I did yesterday. Dorado, I got rained on only, thats what made me turn back. Apparently you can paddle up the Dwyryd as far as Maentwrog, it looked fabulous higher up - steep sided valley.
