John,
I have a Prowler 13 and for many years it has been the kayak of choice for many anglers. keep your eye open there have been a few second hand bargains around.
1 Hour to the coast a problem? Try 31/2 hours like I will have tomorrow in search of a tope.
As I say the Prowler is a good choice but when looking around also watch out for Moken 10 & 12 and Mantas. There are bargains to be had.
If you have further questions start a new specific thread.
Some times things get 'lost' in the 'New Members' section.
And don't worry about novice questions, that's what the 'Don't be shy' section is for. Some forums can be a little curt with what they see as silly questions and it puts novices off. We always try and help new starters here.
There are quite a lot of members from the North West so ask away about launch spots and prospect.

Hi All!
New to the forum, and sea kayaking. I have been a keen shore fisherman in the past although in recent years my fishing tackle has not seen the light of day! Just forever seemed to think- next time I will catch that dream fish- and it fizzled out a bit! I have a Tarpon 120 rigged out for fishing, now just need to get out there and do some kayaking! Nearest coastline to me in Llanddulas; it would be good to meet up with some others from a safety point and some company. Keen to explore the coastline and hopefully catch some fish! Like the idea of trolling for bass, mackerel feathers and also sitting up and anchoring and trying some good spots!
Cheers for now!

Just thought would say hello and introduce myself.
Have been the proud owner of a Prowler 13 now for the past 6 years and still get plenty of use out of it (when the weather allows). Mainly around the Great and Little Orme but has been on many an adventure.
Hopefully pick up some good tips and always on the look out for some new spots to try out.
Cheers, Jay

Jay,
As an experienced guy others may well benefit from meeting up with you and drawing on your knowledge and experience. There are often queries about the Llandudno area.
Cheers Terry

Terry, sounds good. Not sure what knowledge I can pass on but would be well up for a trip out. Just driven along the North Shore on way back tonight, sea was like a mirror! Shame only had half an hour of daylight left was itching to get out :-(

Hello everyone. I'm new to the sea fishing on a kayak. Last week went out on my taken gemini sport with a good friend for the firstt time a we bought a 6lb bass. what a buzz on the lure. I am now hooked and can't wait for my next outing. But how lucky I'm I in having a site dedicated to north Wales fishing which I live.

Hi everyone I’m Griff from Blackpool just thought I’d pop in and say hello as the latest newbie, also I would like to congratulate you on an amazing web site, full of interesting tips and information, just what I need as I’m very much in the researching stage at the moment, been out sea fishing on a boat a few times before, but have always been a fresh water fisherman, stopped a number of years ago, and have been thinking about getting back into it, but doing something that little bit different. I spend a lot of my spare time in Colwyn bay and Llandudno so would hope to be fishing around that area when I’m set up, Be back in touch soon. Griff

Griff,
Welcome mate we have a few members around the North West indeed the two main men from here Zebra ( Terry) and Buddy ( Steve ) are from Skelmersdale and the Manchester area . They occaisionally run a safety course ay Runcorn.
Terry is often to be seen taking newbies out on one of his yaks or introducing them to Kayaks North West at Runcorn who are kayak makers and sellers....they are very friendly to site members.
It is a different sort of fishing but don't confine yourself to saltwater many of us venture out on freshwater too.
