Hi All, Anyone heading out on Anglesey this weekend ? Myself and my stepson are heading over (from Sheffield) on Sat morning, staying until Monday. Would be nice to say hello & have a chat if our path crosses with anyone.... Talking of paths crossing, although I been given some good advice about Porth Dafarch being a good, safe spot for the lad on his first trip (thanks , given the forecast, esp for Sunday (SW 18), it seems the north or east coasts would be better launch spots. Bull Bay sounds good, and I've fished Point Lynas from the shore in the past. Any advice about theese spots and any others, particularly from a safety perspective (eg avoid lighthouse at Point Lynas), would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hopefully some others (more experienced with that side of the island than me) will post some advice for you too - but here is my "novice" kayak fishing suggestion. I would take him out from a nice sandy beach - like Benllech, or Lligwy or Llandonna - chance of flatties and bass fairly close in, and nice easy launch. I found Bull Bay a bit more adventurous for a first ride out, although it is very sheltered from sw wind if its really bad but dont venture more than 50 yards out or the wind will push you out quickly.

I am planning to be out tomrrow at Newborough/Llandwyn with one or two others - safety in numbers and all that - after some new species from the yak - you are welcome to join us. PM me for my mobile number. Wind is only 6 or 9 mph southerly forecast so should be good there. Best baits are fresh rag, peeler, plus some black lug/sandeel etc as back up Steve

Malltraeth. This morning my son and I launched from Cable Bay and paddled round to Llangwyfan and back. Most enjoyable, took 2 hours, went to Felinheli afterwards but the wind was so strong by then that we gave up and went home.

Havnt tried Newbrough or Malltraeth in the yak yet but have shore fished Newborough beach. I went to near Malltraeth this evening with the family and dogs for a walk and had a good look around a mark I had been told about over low water.
We should be at Newborough beach main carpark tomorrow (Saturday) morning at around 9am and will be heading right towards / around Llandwyn isle from the beach launch just out of the car park.
