Hi All. Picked up a Scupper pro yesterday and the first thing i noticed was how difficult it was to put on the car. NO SIDE HANDLES!!! These are a must for re-entrys. Just happened to have 2 in the shed + a 6"hatch. No way of getting inside to bolt the handles on so the hatch had to be fitted in front of the seat. Hatch and gasket Use the center of the hatch to mark the hole I cut the hole using a hole cutter Then i opened it up to the right size. Put the gasket on with silicone anf fit the hatch with stainless nuts and bolts. Now for the handles. Put a strap under the kayak and move backwards or forwards until the kayak lifts level. Mark the yak central to where the strap is to be fit. This picture also shows a template to drill the holes in the correct position. Mark and drill the holes using the template. The handle is fastenes using large 6mm washers and stainless nuts and bolts. The template is used as a backing plate to add inner strength. Silicone is used to keep things watertight. JOB DONE ;D

Looking good buddy, welcome to the Scupper club ;D The side carry handles do make a huge difference and the centre hatch is handy too.

Good job. Just what I'm about to do to my wifes "Feel free Nomad". It's a pain to lift by yourself without any, my hand just slips out of the "so called" molded grab handles.
Where do I get the handles from, and how much are they?
