YO-ZURI Crystal minow Plug Baits This is my review of the Yo-zuri crystal minow plugs The quality of the Yo-zuri range has long been known but the new crystal minnows Raise that quality to new heights the finish is amazing how they get the colours to reflect light is fantastic the detail of the crystal minnow range is outstanding with such things as gill covers and lips which are clear to see Quality fittings and hooks are used throughout the range This assortment are deep diving floaters and are all 90mm 9.5 gram plugs Note the iridescent colouration in the flanks of each plug and the clever way the main back colour is blended in to the flanks for maximum effect and attractant Each plug has a large eye and is finished off with a quality stainless split ring The mackerel has to be my favourite of the crystal colours in the water it looks so life like, this is a fantastic range of plugs the name Yo-zuri has long been associated with top quality plugs and a finish second to none but now thanks to masterline walker they are freely available here in the uk this range costs between 12.99 and 14.99 each that’s great value for the quality and sure to be a firm favourite amongst us all

Pure brilliant! I don't use plugs that often but when I do I like the best money can buy and in my opinion the yo-zuri are one of the very best out there. I think the ones I got came form Japan because I couldn't source any locally at a reasonable price so great to hear Masterline have brought them in. I agree totally Terry the mackerel lure looks absolutely stunning. Great pictures and review this. Chris

I would like to compliment Terrys fine article on the yo-Zuri plugs. I have some of the other masterline plugs. These are surface poppers "Tsunami. Out of all the plugs that I have ever owned, these have to be some of the best made plugs that I have ever seen. The largest one of these is 200mm long 8" and weighs 120 gramms. The code for this one is the L48. I can just imagine pulling this along behind a shoal of mackeral just waiting for the bass to take it. The next size down is 150mm 6" You only have to hold these plugs to feel the quality. The code on this one is L26 and weighs in at 53 gramms These next 2 plugs have got to be red hot, the red/yellow looks as though it could do some serious damage to the fish stocks around Angelsey this summer. Its 90mm long, and the code is L36 The last one is so well made, just have a look at it, fantastic, look at the detail. Also it has a bit of a secret aboout it. Its called a super popper, with its splash and bubble design, Like the other poppers it has large weight transfer balls inside for tumble free casting, the balls also create a deep echo through the water column to attract fish. The unique design emits a bubble trail that agitates preditory fish. Fantastic colours and details. Now having spent a few bob on your plugs, it would be a shame if they where to damage themselves on the hooks in transit, to chip the paintwork, so I have had a thought about that. Have a look at this, its only a peice of pipe insulation, but it works. Steve

Well done Steve that is a compliment alright! I like the look of these fellas even if a certain hot colour is missing. ;D ;D ;D ;D As you say these will be great when the bass are active while the mackerel are about. Be sure to send us a photo with a fish attached to one mate. I like your idea of using the insulation pipe on the trebles. Will help avoid these nasty tangles too. I like to use that pipe foam stuff on my rod before and after a session so I can hook my lures/traces on without having to rig things up on the shore. Very lazy I know but stops the hooks getting in the car seat. Thanks for that Steve. Great review and pics. Chris

I went out for a few chucks last night, no fish, but the plugs look great in the sun.

I have just acquired a couple more plugs from the Masterline stable, they are both super poppers, and very well made they are to. Fantastic detail in these little fellas The treble hooks are really very sharp. Inside of these plugs are weight transfer balls, these serve two causes, one when you cast these plugs the balls go to one end of the plug which stops the end over end tumble, thus aiding the cast, and let me tell you that really works, a long cast is easy. The other reason for them is the vibration that the balls set up in the water column which attracts fish. And the main design features of these plugs is the splash and bubble facility. They create a bubble trail when added to the vibrating balls induce explosive strikes from preditory fish. The small plug is 100mm long and the item number is 50587 colour-203. The larger plug is 150mm long and the item number is 50590 colour-200.
