Thinking of installing a anchor pulley kit to my caper. I was using my anchor for the 1st time the other week with Jim and Dave off New brighton. The sea was pretty calm so I clipped the carabina to my seat straps. After a hour of arse twitching pulls from the rope I decided to pull up and troll for bass. My question is do you attach some sort of bungee/shock absorber to the anchor rope or can you purchase an elasticated pulley rope to prevent the swell from snatching at the yak.

Hey Jaan, the idea of using bungee cord is to take up the movement caused by the tide's swell. It is best to fit the pulley wheels to the yak with a piece of about 6" or so, then use paracord to make up the rest of the system. It is also better located as close to the stern and the bow as possible. There is loads of info with pics on here if you search.
