If anyone has that annoying seepage of water into the 6" hatch, this is my fix.
I bought an 18" seal from a builders merchant, I think these are used for drain caps or something similar, cost £3.00.
I cut off 455mm and joined the ends using super glue, placed this into hatch, screwed down lid and played water from hose pipe onto the hatch for a couple of minutes, no water ingress at all, sorted.
I had previously tried a bead of silicone around hatch bottom, also rubber tubing but neither worked.
Catapult elastic may be a possible but it's hollow and costs £5.00 and will need joining.

Glad it helps Chris.
I posted this on the other site, on here I forgot to mention that the rubber seal is "round rubber" not any kind of door draught excluder (it's just like a giant "O" ring, hope that makes it clearer.
