Hi to all, this is my first visit to this forum. I have just used my scooter for my first sea fishing trip,(normally used for surfing and general touring, lakes, rivers and canals). this is a very stable yak and being low in the water can be paddled in up to force3-4 with experience. It is very easy to get back on iff you take a swim, even in waves. For its size it can move quite fast, helped by the tracking hull. The moulded footrests are a bit small and when stationary the footwell holds a few cm of water. I use a seat with backrest and thigh straps, I like comfort and with the straps you have full control over the kayak. As for a fishing platform, whilst I would not venture any further than a mile out it is brilliant for close in among the rocks and trolling a lure around a bay. The one and only rear storage area is reasonable for storing gear and you can sit side saddle, so can get to this area. I haven't fitted rod holders as I still surf with it and my gear is simple. All in all this 10ft kayak feels much bigger on the waves. Probably a good choice for summer fish and fun. Anyone else used one?

Hi Zebra, thanks for the reply. I fished from skinningrove on the north east coast, caught two smallish pollock, about 1Lb each and a garfish which surprised me as I have only ever seen these further south. I used hoki shrimp lures fished on the drift at approx mid level. The scooter is very good at handling wind because it sits low in the water and the hull curves in to the cockpit, unlike the ocean kayak type with the vertical sides. As I have already said its a great yak for close in fishing and would be ideal for younger people wishing to have a go at fishing and then fun in the surf later. My tackle consists of a cheap diawa multiplier reel and an ABU 20lb class 5ft boat rod.
