Does any of our older members remember the sports mopeds of the 70s have you ever owned one or ridden one, there was the yamaha FS1E 50cc and the honda SS 50cc 4 stroke and later on suzuki did one although i can't remember what model, you could ride these at 16yrs old. I had the honda SS 50, not quite as fast as the yamaha FS 1E. ;D

stupid thing was at 16 you had to tootle about on a 2.5 bhp ped, and then at 17 you could do 100mph on a 250cc without passing your test. this ended the lives of too many kids (two of my mates included)

my first road bike was a Suzuki TS50. Dog slow after all the field bikes I`d had. My last road bike was a Yamaha Fazer 1000. It seemed to spend a lot of time on the back wheel ;D

Good point about getting to 17 snakey, straight from a 50cc to 250cc was a stupid law because some of them bikes were fast ,suzuki GT 250 ram air system and left hand kickstart 95 to 100mph with L plates, remember that one ? I also new people who lost there lives because of that law.

My Dad used to have a motorbike breakers in Manchester. I`ve probably stripped down many a bike that would now be classed as a classic. Remember the KH250 tripples.....they sounded great with 3 Micron pipes on them or the GT750 Kettle and the Z650....heaven with the Alfa 4 into 1.......I`m getting all nostalgic ;D
