Had a bit of a wasted afternoon at Lake Hill on Wednesday - very cold and windy so no fish on the top and after I'd finished rigging kayak and rod I discovered I'd forgot the vest with all my flies in! If I hadn't already rigged I'd have gone home but I had a go anyway with a packet of traditional wet flies I found in my bag - no luck and packed up cold after 2 hours - first time I've blanked here Anyway. Good news is that they're no longer making any charge for launching kayaks of float tubes - prices now same as for bank fishing Martin

Over near Llandegla - I head down the dual carriageway from Chester (483) and then up through Coed Poeth on the Ruabon road. I included some pics on an earlier post - last year I think. Paid £15 for a 4 hr ticket last week. Martin

its great to see some of the still water owners seeing the benefits of the kayaks and allowing us access to their waters i know the guys up at lake hill are particularly good with us its well worth a visit not only for the fishing which is very good but its a lovely location for a paddle as well while you are fishing and enjoying the scenery

They are really helpful up there - not only are they allowing us through the gate from the carpark through to the lakeside - they actually come out and open the gate for us! Nice clean stony beach for launching - hoping to take the family along too for a picnic once the weather warms up...
