my little contribution to the photo record of the day. Dam shame about the wind - a successful day may have been on the cards otherwise- as everyone said we made the best of it- was good to see everyone. Across the sands- Plan was to head NW to the shelter of these cliffs and get to the otherside of them. Getting ready for kick off Wind and rain getting their act together Most of the party headed around the cliffs looking for a sheltered bay on the otherside but the wind was even worse and out of safety the party returned to where me and Adam were already parked up on the rocks having a rest. Tim and Kev returning to join us Ian and Mike ( Hughesey and Gismo11) Taking a rest Finally- heads down and hauling the kayaks back through a relentless gale and sandstorm. Back in 1 piece Thanks to Adam for help in the kitchen and to everyone for a great day out. Looking fwd to the next time.

Hi all had thanks for a cracking day on Saturday. Thats the first time iv had wind get under the yak and nearly flip me. Also watching yaks getting blown up the beach was a new one.
Went over to Cayton Bay ( Nr Scarborough ) On Sunday. The wind was forecast to drop in the after noon which it did so managed to get out after fighting my way through the surf. Should have done my home work the place was packed with surfers it toke four attempts to get passed the first breaker each time landing 20 feet further back than where id started from. When the wave retreated i was back on the beach and had to start again ( i hate surf ) Any way got out to the kelp beds started fishing anticipating a big cod 10 minutes later the wind got up ( i hate wind ) and had to make a hasty retreat back to the beach. Found that the surf had died down or so i thought about thirty feet out a wave picked me up and threw me back on to the beach ( i hate the beach )

Hi Zebra
Unfortunately i forgot my camera so no photos. It would make a good venue for a camp over. I will be going back as soon as this wind drops. Its 130 Miles from Warrington so about 2.5 hrs driving.

not too long ago I went to sands end near whitby, probably a bit of a treck for the welsh lads but what a superb place it was, some campsites near bye so I was told, and probably a good chance to meet with some guys from one of the other forums as they all seem to live local to that area, I would be deffiniatly up for a weekender there.

I'm up for camping any time any where. If Vol is about I'm shore he could some sort of met together. If any of the Welsh lads are interested they could meet me at my house leave there car there put the Yaks on top of my car and save some fuel and millage and fuel on there car. It would be good to have a go at those cod in the kelp beds.
