Hi all, On Sunday the 24th of September at 13:30 the coastguard sector manager Will Williams has kindly agreed to give us, the forum, a presentation on the following subjects, *role of the coastguard *the area of their responsibilities *Flares, types available and how to use them *Practical demo on setting off flares *the importance of having a VHF radio *the use of correct voice procedure *how to contact the coastguard and what to do in an emergency There will also be some leaflets on 'sea canoeing and kayaking safety' and the chance of a question and answer session at the end. The presentation will last about an hour and will be held on Victoria pier in Colwyn Bay in the empty shop just behind Ray's Tackle shop. There will be refreshments available in the form of brews and Beer at the bar on the pier, at a cost ;D This should be a good presentation so if you can make it, please come along and support the effort the coastguard have put in. If you are coming please PM me so i have a rough idea of numbers that are attending, thanks. See you there, Martin

It has been posted elsewhere on this forum but i thought it also might be worth a mention here also- is that ray- Victoria Pier Angling is making a fair amount of tackle available at a discount just for the day on the safety meet- details are in the "Shop Section". So if you haven't decided on this event yet this might be a good chance to get uptodate on the safety side and get some discount on your tackle as well.
