Hi Shane. You said "for a fatyak/Fat kayak" Dont compare this with the now dis-continues Ocean Fatyak as these were more like a floating pontoon than a kayak. The Fatyak is scimilar to the Feelfree Nomad. Paddled the Fatyak myself and was quite impressed with it. A good value versatile fishing/fun kayak. Steve

Looks like it has passed with flying colours.
Have you put the report on the home site so the manufacturer can link to it?
Good publicity for both parties.

Great review - I saw the shorter FatYak at the Bath and West show last week. I got talking to them, and found it was made in Williton - I probably drive past it every time I fish at Blue Anchor. The one I saw was very light - a great fun kayak; that one looks alot more serious for kayak fishing; its great that more manufacturers are building and designing kayaks, especially when it is being done in the UK. I always feel that the US and New Zealand get hands-on and involved with the design of new fishing kayaks - maybe soon, we will get the same thing in this country.

i got one of the fun fat yaks mk1 its a great surf or fun yak but the new kaafu is superb the plan is for them to bring along a 12ft version and a tandem they are a great company to talk to and seam to be taking everything on board they are going to make some of the modifications i done standard in the next generation of the fat yak2 i will do a review of the mark 1 as a play boat but i do feel they have this one just right i must admit over the last year or so i have changed my opinion of the sub 12ft kayaks for the better and i do think they have a big part to play in kayak fishing it handled superbly last week at moelfre in fact it was so good i just ordered another one
