Firstly, let me clarify, that I have no financial involvement whatsoever with Conoflex - I reviewed one of their previous rods, and made some recomendations on things which I would love to see incorporated into a new "super" kayak fishing rod. Well, a guy from Conoflex read my review, and got in touch recently to say he had created a new rod specifically for kayak fishing incorporating my comments, and would I like to try it ? Would I ever ! ;D ;D The rod is called the Conoflex Jedi Kayak QT. The QT stands for quiver tip. It is a 7 foot single peice rod with quality fuji fittings throughout. It has a 4lb test curve and weighs only 210g ! But the coolest thing about it, is the foot and a half long solid glass tip section (in yellow ;D) which has been spliced in to the main body of the rod. Its sensitive, but doesn't fold up and has bags of power too. Its 10 rings have been configured to allow use by either fixed spool or multiplier reels. I have not managed to use it in anger on the kayak yet, but I'm so excited that, I thought I would post a review and pics now because I thought you would like a sneak preview.... dizzybigfish.co.uk/conoflex-jedi-kayak-qt-quiver-tip-rod/Let me know what you think.

The Fladen is a great rod for the kayak - I have 2 of them - but they are not much cheaper than the Jedi. I will be writing a review on the new Fladen Maxximus Solid carbon Orange rod - so stay tuned for that - another cracker.

Went to Chromer last year. The tackle shop was having a sale. i bought my Maxximus for £45 and could have had any length or class rating. If i had known how much cheaper they were i would have bought a load of them. Steve
