Hi Fergal If you go for the triple mount, I assume you intend to have it forward mounted in which case the lines are drifting down the side of the kayak. I have tried this with constant problems with paddles catching the lines. I would suggest that you look at RAM Tubes mounted just to the rear of your seat. As they swivel in any direction, you can have the rods forwards for bottom fishing as we do on the sea or to the sides for wide span trolling or higher to the rear as a more compact trolling position. The RAM Tubes leave Scotty mounts way behind them and they will also take almost any size rod butt or reel type. Here is what I am talking about and I cannot recommend them highly enough. www.h2okayaks.com/engine/shop/product/rap119/Rap+119+Tube+Rod+HolderHope that helps Phil

have the same mounted just behind the seat great for keeping rods out at an angle while paddling.or as phil says trolling or bottom fishing.

i have today seen a simlar rod holder to the ones mentioned but with a difference it has a break away swivel top on it . its by far the best rod holder i have seen its from mazzif but its going to be a big seller here in the uk. i wil get some photos of it up over the weekend but if you havent already spent your money wait and get the mazzif ones they are superb.

I use a scotty triple and never looked back! You are just showing off David, that your belly does not stop you from leaning so far forward to reach the rods. Of course having a racing snake figure, I also would'nt have a problem either No comments needed chaps. Phil
