Merrell Cambrian Convertible
this is my review of the Merrell Cambrian Convertible
firstly the official info on them
• Cement construction provides lightweight durability
• Nubuck, pig suede and mesh upper
• Lycra® neoprene lining for padded comfort treated with Aegis® antimicrobial solution
• Removable back strap for slide option
MIDSOLE/OUTSOLE
• Molded nylon arch shank
• Molded EVA footframe for stability and comfort
• Merrell air cushion in the heel absorbs shock and adds stability
• 3.0 mm sole lug depth
• Vibram® Cambrian Sole/TC5+ Rubber
• Water friendly non-marking sipped sole
i wanted a water shoe that i could use easily with waterproof socks like the ones in a dry suit in the past i have found small problems with the toe area in the socks bunching when other shoes have been used
The first thing you notice is how light the shoes feel and the obvious top quality materials used in the making of them
The lacing system is superb holding the foot comfortably and secure
With plenty of protection for the upper foot and toe areas
The sole is a special soft rubber that grips really well when wet it is designed to expel water under the foot area
Inside the sole is a real innovative idea small holes are positioned around the inside of the sole to allow any excess water to escape directly through the channels quickly so the shoe drains very quickly
The large vent holes allow for maximum water flow and air flow when it’s hot
Another great feature is the heel area this is designed with a double Velcro fastening system which allows you to put the shoe on without bunching of the toe areas
The soft upper of these shoes make them very comfortable to wear and quick to put on and off while offering superb protection to the foot
The double Velcro fastening system is superb the overall look and feel of the shoe is very nicely done and shows superb quality even the glues used to make these shoes are waterproof I would think these shoes would last a long time I have used mine several times now and they are quickly becoming my favourites they are great the retail of this shoe is £80.00 a pair and worth every penny
