Went out on the Mahee today with Terry and was very impressed to say the least.
Got to the canal and unloaded the kayak and it instantly caught the eye of a local angler looking for a Tandem for himself and his son. They were seriously thinking this could be the answer.
The weight of the tandem is lighter than most single seaters of the same size, the thickness of the plastic and the build quality is superb.
We finally got on the water so here goes with my personal opinion\review.
I took to the water on my own first, sat in both the front and back the kayak was easily maneuverable forwards backwards and sideways from both positions.
Both of us in the kayak and for its size performed exactly as you would want a tandem to.
Very very stable, with 2 paddling it was quite quick and tracked streight.
The kayak cuts nicely through the water with no slap.
One of the first things you will notice is just how dry the cockpit is.
With 2 of us in there is no sign of water around your feet.
we paddled about 4 miles over the afternoon, changed places so we both paddled front and back.
The distance between the front and rear seats is spot on.
The seats are very comfy.
Paddling back against a stiff breeze was easy.
Anyone looking for a well made stable tandem that is a very dry ride at a very reasonable price should be looking at the Mahee as you will be hard pressed to find one as good as this anywhere near the price.
When This kayak is released for sale its sure to be a winner.
