well i know we don't usually do football on the forum and as a LIVERPOOL fan its probably a good thing but i got to say its a sad day to see Ferguson retiring he has been a great manager for his club and made the premiership what it is today he is probably the only un-replaceable at the club i hope they give the job to a young manager and give him a chance . i can only compare it to a day long ago when i was a boy on southport beach on the 12th july when shanks retired the club lost a bit of its magic and i think the same will happen who ever takes over at old trafford so good luck to Alex in what ever he decides to do in the future. sadly the premiership just lost a little bit of its sparkle

I'm not a football fan at all but even I can see that his departure will be a huge loss to club and to the sport.

Only thing that gets me is as the 'Greatest Manager ever' he won two Euro's in god knows how many years.
Was it THREE in nine years for Paisley......not bad I guess, has any other British Club manager achieved better?
Ferguson? The man who almost single handedly created a culture of disrespect and intimidation of match officials an attitude which sadly now has spread to kids in park games. A legacy to be proud of Sir Alex.
Sorry I just do not like the man.

Thanks Terry , yes he will be missed and to me he has been the greatest manager ever...I believe David Moyes is the right choice for the club because the Boss says so. ;D ;D ;D

I love that Terry ( izzetafox) at the risk of being Fergusonist His achievements are second to none, unbelieveable ! but he rarely gave credit where due to opposition, especially the noisy neighbours !
As a Man City fan - I'm glad to see the back of him, but will never forget his face when city snatched the title in the last minute a year ago , Agueroooooooooo !!!

I wonder what that exceptional manager Brian Clough could have achieved with the sort of money that todays managers have had. Back to back Champions of Europe no manger has managed to that in England before or since. True greatness.
Plus he was one of the few people with the courage to stand up to the dirtiest football team ever to disgrace English football.
