Thinking about getting a new kayak has any one got any views on the stealth 575 and the dorado? Cheers

Both are fine kayaks. From general concensus though I believe a lot of anglers elect for the Dorado or if you are slightly larger the Dorado II. In fact Simon the importer of Kaskazi says he has had one or two change from a Stealth to a Dorado. I think that Stealths do 'what they are designed for' very well but are perhaps not best suited to the average UK kayak angler. You have to remember they are based on a 'surf ski'. Speed in rough waters that are found in South Africa. In those waters they are excellent but at anchor in our waters and carrying a bit of gear some say the Dorado fits the bill better. The only thing you can do is try them out for yourself, it is a lot of money to invest blind. I know Simon will happily do demos. Contact him via his site www.kayakuk.com/I have to say that I have paddled neither nor do I have any interest or alliegance to either company. Terry

Always liked the look of the Darado but I don't think I would be comfortable due to back issues and a large bum. There are many guys who have them and love them although I know a couple of guys who got them said they took a little getting used to but once they did, deep love affairs followed.
