Are these canal trips on the kayak ? I take it you're going to the Leeds Liverpool, there is some great fishing on there. The canal near to where I live at Haskayne is really quiet, no one to be seen but great fishing I fish for chub on the River Alt near my house too, but a yak would be pointless, the river is really small The chub go to 4lb or so though, great sport on the right tackle.

I don't know new street, we fish either near the Scarisbrick Arms pub or in Haskayne village, like you say, lots of bream, perch and roach, odd carp and plenty of pike I'm not sure why you'd kayak fish though, the banks are so accessible and comfortable I fancy having a paddle on the Alt if only to mess about safely and practise climbing back in before my course I also aspire to a static in Anglesey and would love to get together with those of you that have them for a chat Once you've done a safety course Gilly, it'd be nice to see you for a trip out to Anglesey Isn't there a close season now on the canal ?
