I ve attached my old fish finder to my sib I only really fish about 25-50m out max targeting bass, pol, coal, mac and gar on the lure
whats the best way to use it? am I looking for sudden drop offs? as that's where the fish are? think it picks up bottom features like rock, sand and kelp which I presume is useful like I said I don't really use one but thought I d give it a go next year

David you can either make a bracket to clip over the transom, check back through some of the posts as both Terry and I have put some info there but you can also purchase a long arm which again fits over the transom and in some cases over the tubes which is fine if you are going very slow.
If you can, you can also connect the transducer bracket directly onto the transom and leave it in place but to be honest you will have to decide if it will be in the way when you fold the boat up for storage.
It is worth looking on ebay as fitting kits are often available there.
