Well... me and the old man went out from Abergele on Thursday night for a couple of hours... could do any fishing due to the weather.. We paddled for 40 minutes in the direction of Colwyn Bay and ended up 1/2 a mile closer to Rhyl... lol...
Had a lot of fun on the waves though and after the pull of the tide, the 60 mph winds and the 5 foot breakers I have a lot more confifdence in the sea-worthiness of the Prowler and the Malibu2.. if anyone saw the 2 of us they probably thought we were crazy....

You lucky thing, I woke up this morning smiling at the state of the weather, very windy and heavy rain. I loaded my Yak Board in the car and headed to Colwyn Bay, no joy it was practically a flat calm so i pushed on to Penmeanmar if thats how you spell it which was not much better wind blown sand and messy chop about a few inches, i didn't bother getting dressed. I couldn't understand why driving along the A55 i nearly got blown off the road and yet there was very little in the way of waves.

Went out again Yesterday (Sunday) - still not managed to fish though... stacked both yaks on the trolley (cheers Ray) and dragged them the 7 miles to the waters edge at Llygwy Bay (Why is the sodding tide ALWAYS out ?) had a load of fun in the surf.. went out a bit too far for comfort at one point.. good 6 foot swell at one point... At least we're getting a bit of confidence on the yaks even if no fishing...

Looks like you are doing well earning your kayaking spurs RW. Tidal pull is one thing add to that a persistent wind against your paddling direction and you stand a good chance of going backwards I think anyone on a kayak will sooner or later face something like that. Fatigue paddling against the wind - got to watch that one. The fact that you are getting this kind of experience early on is a good thing- you quickly learn your own and the boats capabilities and limits. Hopefully next time you post there will be pictures of all the fish you caught as well - best of luck
