The Osprey didn't think about any close seasons on Saturday. It came over Dewent Water about 4 pm whilst I was at the Kettlewell NT car park. After a spectacular dive into the water from incredible height - it took to the air with a little pike in its talons ! It was close enough for me to see it was a pike ( I think ) Plenty of other people were there, but only my wife and I saw it !! Derwent Water is always worth a go - good pike and perch fishing there and easy yak launching. Day tickets from Keswick Angling Association for £7 (no close seasons)

Amazing birds seen them have a few fish on Esthwaite. Derwent water is easier to fish than Windermere. Fished Windermere for a couple of years and still struggle locating the fish

Trolling dead baits in deep water using a paravane has worked for me if nowt is happening in the shallower water plus the chance of a ferrox. Esthwaite is fishing excellent for trout and perch at the moment has stocked loads of trout last week not cheap he also has a couple of Hobies he rents out.
