Bought some french booms the other day, the ones with the triangle with a loop turned on the part at right angle to the boom. Hav'nt a clue how to attach it to my line and can't find any diagram on the net. I've allready mangled 2 through loosing it a bit so some advice would be apreciated before i've nane left.

I can't draw this for you mate but. Make a small loop in the line, push the loop through the triangle bit of the boom, wind it round the upright bit of the boom( The bit that is 90 degrees to the boom itself) about 3 or 4 times, as you pull the line tight it should tighten itself around the wire and hold itself in place. The good thing about this type of boom is that they are easy to move up and down your rig. Also you can add these as an after thought
Hope this helps
Steve

Ok maybe alot longer than the afor mentioned 2 minutes but here we go. Here Is the boom in questionYou place it alongside your mainline (indicated here by some 70lb trace wire so the oldies can seeYou then form a loop and pass it throughRepeat againThen hook over the eye and pull tightAnd there you have your boom. If you loosen the loops you are able to move it up and down your mainline. John Edit:I have just basically repeated what seajunky has just said sorry

Another method is to tie your main line to top of the boom and a weak link to the bottom with the weight on it. Commonly called a 'flying collar' ideal for fishing live eels and jelly worms shads etc.
