Mostly for Reeco but obviously all comments welcome as long as they are not too abusive ;D I fitted the fishfinder today along with the battery(12vlt 7.2amp) In a tupperware box with some minicell foam in the gaps of the tupperware box and the whole thing nestled in a block of foam stuck to the hull.I intend to jam it in there with another small piece of foam to keep it steady in event of a tip over. The battery and box can still be easily removed for transit and charging. I know the fishfinder is a long way forward and out of reach when sat, but my thoughts were to turn it on and leave it alone until finished fishing before launching. (What do you think?)Also my concern was for re-entry I wanted nothing in the way and this should stop me kicking it when getting in and out. Stuck the transducer to the hull just infront of the square hatch with sikaflex sealant in white, will this be ok do you think? And some pictures showing the anchor trolley. I put it on the left (sorry not sure which is port or starboard) As I like to get in and out on the offside,so no hazards on that side? See pics ;D

Hi Pete, TYVM for taking the time to write it up and upload the pics. It looked a very neat job and well thought out, I think you have to mount the equipment where you feel it will be of most benefit to you.
Did you have to cut a hole for the transducer ?
I am not to keen on cutting or drilling a hole in a new kayak, now then if the pro Explorer already comes with a transducer hole, Bob's your Uncle.
What did you use to stick the black foam holding the tupperware box ?
Last question what colour is your Pro Explorer ? Once again TYVM Mate. ATB. Reeco

There is no transducer hole in the Malibu kayaks unlike the Ocean kayaks Trident/ elite 4.5 and I think the latest P13. But this is not a concern and there is no drilling involved. You just clean up the area where you place the transducer with thinners or something making sure you key it with a bit of sanding paper and bed the transducer to the hull in a big dollop of sealer making sure there are no air bubbles and press it down with some weights overnight., and it works through the hull as if it was in water. The foam with the tupperware box in is stuck with the same sikaflex. The battery box is just slotted in to it and secured with extra foam on top to jam it in. If you search the forums for fishfinder installations you will find loads with better explanations than mine which will help you. What colour is my pro-xplorer ;D Is that a trick question? ;D Red mate. ;D They don't use names like Flame/sunset or whatever just red ,blue, green, yellow.
