The anchor trolley I'm using is copied directly from the one I use on the X Factor, the design has been copied & adapted from designs in the UK & USA.
The parts being used are:-
Rope (colour to match ;D), 2 lengths of bungee cord, 2 small blocks, 2 fineline cleats, 2 small nylon fairleads, 1 clamcleat, 2 pad eyes (Inc 2 backing plates made from plastic chopping board),carabineer, 'O' ring, nuts & bolts to suit, rivets & marine sealant
Thread the bungee through the block & secure with an overhand knot and place in the pad eye, position the pad eye on the front of the boat & drill the two holes, I'm using nuts & bolts here but on the X Factor I've used rivets without any problems.
Repeat the above for the rear pad eye, (note everything is fixed in 'dry', when I'm happy with the layout all the fixings will be removed and the sealant added)
The rope is threaded through the rear block (a knot is put in the rope to prevent it pulling through), the two fairleads are threaded onto the rope and the rope is then put through the other block and pulled tight, this enables you to work out the ideal placement of the faileads, these are then drilled & bolted into place. Pad eyes could be used but I prefer the faileads as they keep the rope away from the hull & reduce the possibility of damage to the hull from friction ( probably overkill but makes me feel better
Tie 'O' ring to rear end of the rope
Tie carabineer to front end of rope and clip to the 'o' ring, this might take a couple of attempts to get the length/adjustment just right
Next fit the two fineline cleats and also the clamcleat for the anchor rope
Once happy, take everything back off, apply copious amounts of sealant & wait 24 hrs before adding water ;D
