Hello My name is will I have just bought my first fishing yak so all is new to me , have fished all my life mostly bass , plugging , bait, and fly, I fish the Porthmadog estuary , I have had 4 bass so far, would like to learn more about yak fishing so if anyone would fancy some good bass fishing in Porthmadog drop me a line would be pleased to have some company

hi ian well i have a choice of borth y gest , or from the slipway in porthmadog or from the powder house on black rock sands, i used to have a boat and fished the estuary in port daily, had some good bass from here , so now have my yak im looking forward to getting back to my old spotts , thanks for the welcome ian

No probs, Im sure youll enjoy fishing from the yak.
I too have fished from a boat for a few years but the kayak is different, its easier to take to different venues and launch. Then when you are on it youre as close to the water as you can be. Definately a different experience. tight lines.

hiya, all just joined thought that i would say hello im new to yak fishing (well canoe in my case) gona try and get to llandudno ASAP probably this weekend depending on the wind i will let you all know how it goes

Just got my first yak. Tandem was only option for now. Just gotta get in some pratice with it for now. Then pimp it up for fishing purposes. Ill have to start a gallery post as I progress cheers Paul

Hello all names James I used to fish many years ago, and going to give it a other go this time on a yak, I don't live on the west cost but rather the Humber estuary, but I found this forum and found it most informative. I did think about buying the Moken 12 but went with the Tarpon 120, will be awhile before am ready, still need a dry suit and the odd bits, then ill see about taking it out and practise my yak control. so nice to meet you all.

Hi jnr, Good to have you on the forum, Im sure youll find plenty of good information and help.
No problems where you are based we are all here to help each other. In fact if i remember correctly i think one of the admin members, Philpot, is from that way somewhere. Im sure he we be along soon to correct me if im wrong.
good luck with getting the yak sorted and keep posting in the meantime ian

hi all. just joined your forum with the view to fishing the welsh coast. relitive beginner had a few trips out on the east coast. my location derby means im as close to west coast as i am the east coast. already seen a couple of members of another forum. cheers mel

You will love going west Mel, the water is a lot clearer for a start and the coastline is fantastic.
