I use a Palm On Tour PFD. It has a central zip in front with a large zip and tag which is good for when it is cold, there are three straps either side of the PFD, the bottom one pulls tight underneath my ribs to stop it riding up if by chance i fancy jumping off bridges, the other two pull the whole vest snug around the trunk of the body so as being secure it acts like a back support without feeling restrictive an any way. The last and important thing is the pockets, other PFD i have tried over the past few years i have found that the pockets seem to be an after thought so getting my hands in is like putting my hands down a pair of drain pipes (showing my age) the On Tour has bellow type pockets so there is plenty of room with the zip at forty five degrees opening away and down from the central main zip making access easier. The On Tour has two large pockets one each side of the zip

Might be bit late but I've got an Explorer Delta too. Tried 'em all and liked the look of many but bought his one because it was the only one that didn't make me look or feel like Jordan! However, it has pockets where you need them and fits like a glove with many adjustable toggles to ensure its just right. Just a pity about he word 'Explorer' emblazened on the thing. Must have been the designer's 16 year old GCSE project... Gerry

having spoken to nick from system-x i have today received a few photos of the new mesh back pfd . note the pockets are out of the way to the sides this has been done to make sure things in the pockets don't hinder re-entry and are still easy to get at when you need them and also note the round mesh cut outs in the front this is to allow air circulation so you don't get to hot the neck area has been tailored so it makes it a lot more comfortable to the wearer . the back is made from mesh so that you can feel more comfortable when sitting in high back seats there is a small amount of flotation on the shoulder area to help with buoyancy all in all i think it looks great and i am sure you will to i can imagine this pfd will feel very comfortable to wear and have the minimum restriction to movement that we sometimes have when wearing a pfd .

I like the idea of side pockets to help with re-entry. I find that my pockets hinder me on re-entry aswell as my over size midrift ;D so removing at least one from the equasion should help with safer re-entry.
John
p.s. any idea on price I know you should not put a price on safety but I would like to make a change of PFD without breaking the bank.

That looks one mighty good PFD. Am I right in thinking with the main floats in the front it will automatically self rite like a life jacket ?
Let us know the price Terry because that looks like a 'must have'
Cheers
Tim
