being serious , this reef is taking a battering from both commercials and pleasure anglers. Please show restraint taking only enough to satisfy your immediate hunger ;D Simon is right in his sermon , but I know its difficult to return fish at times , i've been there myself. Myself and lozz were talking at the weekend about how much the youngsters entering this sport have to look forward to over the next decade , how will our vessels evolve ;D The downside is what will the fishing be like

Its loooking good for this coming Sunday
Swell Rating Swell Height Period Direction Wind Weather Thu 18/09 0.5ft 8secs 5mph 15°C Fri 19/09 0.5ft 11secs 5mph 14°C Sat 20/09 1ft 9secs 6mph 16°C Sun 21/09 1ft 8secs 3mph 15°C Mon 22/09 1ft 8secs 6mph 15°C
Anyone else up for Tywyn this Sunday? I dont mind - catch and release or kill and eat - personally if I catch a few insize bass they will be coming home fot the family - line caught fish to go with our home grown veg and free range eggs = a greener lifestyle (ok so my carbon footprint travelling to Tywyn and back isnt very green, but I am now desperate for my first bass off the yak having recently had two 5 hour plugging sessions on the drift in the straights through all the hotspots I know with just one mackeral on a jointed thunderstick to show for it and 0 bass!. My pot isnt fussy and I prefer the bream to eat and my wife is partial to some fresh huss, and we wont turn conger down - so nothing much on the reef is safe from us :-)

Not really enough water in the river tomorrow so I'm going to launch from the caravan park just go strait on over the railway lines passed the Spar shop. Tide will be in the right direction going down to the reef and coming back Sandiland road i think

Hi all Met up with all the lads at the bridge at 9am ,Vlad had been there all night his little tent and was already on the reef. We all had targeted different species ,ie , bass tope ,I went for the bream . Started getting mackies from the start ,but only had one bream again and one gurnard. I need some lessons from KEV {Hambo}. I don't know how the rest of the lads went on I had to leave early ,Vlad had mackerel and a small gurnard .
cheers tony

We launched about 9.45, quite a few kayaks already on the water and most fishing close In after the BASS, Vlad was trolling a surface lure and had a take but missed is, it was a big tide which was fairly pulling through so you didn't get much of a drift before you were paddling back again. The BASS weren't playing so we went a bit further out and drifted for the mackies, these weren't as plentiful as previous weeks but still some full strings when you found the main shoal. Anchored for the bream but they definitely hadn't read the script, I eventually got one on virtually my last drop, in the interim managed pollock, gurnard, small huss & doggies. Not my best day on the reef but still better than most other venues. Nice to see everyone again - roll on next year
